Sugar Ants, Not Only Sugar.

Sugar ants known as banded sugar ants.  The ant’s body is relatively larger than other common residence ants.  They have black head, orange-brown thorax and black mandibles.  People named it as they often found them in kitchen, eating sugar.  However, they are not just eat sugar and other sweet thingsn but also other savory food.  We can find the sugar ants in many parts of the world.  The scientific  name of the sugar ants is Camponotus consobrinus. Sugar ants is one of common household pest.

Sugar Ants in House

We can see abundant of sugar ants usually in early spring.  Sugar ants are aggresive, they would fight other ants colony to keep their territory or area.  In this time, we can see so many dead sugar ants.
Sugar ants almost eat anything not only sugar.  They also eat insects, meats, cheeses and nuts which are available in kitchen.  Each of sugar ants worker will try hard to find anything as their food, once they found it, they will invite other colony members to come and grab anything in your kitchen.

Sugar Ants Nest

The sugar ants might nest everywhere, including in the place you do not imagine before until you recognize it.  They do not need a large space for their nest.  Once you have found the ants colony in your kitchen, there must be their nest nearby.  You don’t need check your garden because they will not nesting there.  Please check your warehouse, between sheets of paper, your child’s toys, furniture, crack and crevises, baseboards or any containers.  Sugar ants prefer a dark and warm place for their nest.
